Artist Biography

An award-winning artist as well as an active devotee of the arts, HC Gilmore has pursued her passion with passion — studying diverse techniques and philosophies with noted artists throughout the United States. Still today, the artist’s search for knowledge and quest for excellence in her art continues.  

Born, raised, and education begun on the East Coast, HC completed her schooling in the Midwest (St. Mary’s of the Woods College and Purdue University). Her degrees are technical ones, leading to career success in the fast-moving dot-com world. It was this corporate life that enabled HC to happily live, work and learn in a variety of cities and states across the USA. During her corporate career, art had to be reserved for leisure time. In fact, it was during a Sabbatical in 2001 that HC was first introduced to the fired arts. The rest, as they say, is history.

In addition to creating her individual art, HC is a firm believer in the impact and strength of Public Art. To that end, she has actively participated in and contributed to numerous collaborative public artworks on permanent display in both North and South America. HC has been a Judge/Juror for multiple art shows, and is known for her compelling curation of exhibits at challenging venues.
